AICRI Participates in Agreement 25 Cancer Showcase event in QUB

AICRI was privileged to participate in the ‘Cancer Knows No Borders’ Showcase event in Queen’s University Belfast on 18th April 2023 as part of a major international conference at QUB to mark the 25th Anniversary of the signing of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement.

The Showcase event brought together esteemed speakers from across the island of Ireland, from respected international institutions and from the world-renowned US National Cancer Institute to discuss the impact of the Good Friday Agreement on cancer research and care on the island of Ireland. It was attended by an Tánaiste Micheál Martin and Robin Sawnn MLA, both of whom expressed their strong support for all-island cancer research in their addresses.

The event discussed the future of cancer research and care on the island of Ireland and how the creation of the All-Island Cancer Research Institute (AICRI), helps to bring together the best minds on the island of Ireland to significantly contribute to a world without cancer.
