29th July 2022: AICRI's core working group met with US Ambassador to Ireland Claire D. Cronin at the American Embassy in Dublin and presented AICRI's vision and plans for the future. We look forward to strengthening All-Island/US cancer research ties.
20th July 2022: The Vision for AICRI was presented in the panel discussion 'The Future of Precision Medicine: Fast-Tracking Innovation’ at an event in the British Ambassador's residence at Glencairn, Dublin. Thanks to the British Embassy and UCD Foundation for organising this event.
6th July 2022: AICRIstart Recruitment of PhD students for ten PhD projects in the ten academic institutions. Ten successful PhD students will work on innovative projects in precision cancer medicine over four years, starting in September 2022. See AICRIstart for more details.
30th June 2022: Held an online AICRI Workshop with key Cancer Research Supporting Charities on the island of Ireland.
26th May 2022: Held an online AICRI Workshop on Functional Cancer Genomics and Precision Oncology, led by Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin.
27th April 2022: Held a hybrid AICRI Digital Health in Cancer Workshop at Dell Technologies, Limerick, led by the University of Limerick and Queen’s University Belfast.
30th March 2022: Held a hybrid Patient Stakeholder Workshop in Cork, co-led by AICRI representatives and the Patient Voice in Cancer Research (PVCR) at UCD.
24th March 2022: Held an online AICRI Workshop on Immuno-Oncology and the Microbiome which was led by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and University College Cork.
2nd March 2022: AICRI was awarded €4 million in funding from the Shared Island Fund as a Strand III award under the HEA North South Research Programme. This award allows for the creation of an All- Island Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Research Training Programme in Precision Cancer Medicine (AICRIstart).
