Minister Simon Harris opens the AICRI Showcase: Vision and Progress Event 2023

We were delighted and honoured to have Minister Simon Harris, Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science of Ireland open the AICRI Showcase: Vision and Progress event in Dublin on 27th September 2023.

The Higher Education Authority administers the North South Research Programme on behalf of the Minister’s Department. AICRI and cancer research on the island of Ireland has benefited immensely from the North South Research Programme, accounting for almost €13 million and one third of all funding under this ground-breaking scheme.

The AICRI Showcase event gave us an opportunity to highlight our achievements over the past year, share our future plans and engage with a range of stakeholders. An update was provided on cancer research projects funded under Strand I, II and III of the HEA North South Research Programme. AICRI's vision, mission, values and its strategic objectives were also presented and feedback received from stakeholders present. Some of AICRI's future project and upcoming opportunities were also presented.
